I Asked CBS to Let Me Out of My Contract
/Last week, FTVLive told you that a viewer had wondered what had happened to CBS O&O Reporter Seth Kaplan.
Kaplan was hired by CBS to work with O&O’s KDKA (Pittsburgh) and KYW (Philly), covering the PA state capitol in Harrisburg.
Kaplan left the O&O gig and ended up back at WHTM, his old station in Harrisburg.
After we posted the story, Kaplan reached out to say that he asked CBS to let him out of his contract so he could go back to his old station.
“I asked CBS to release me to take a big pay cut to go back to my old job, where the door really did remain open, as I had been assured when I left. Considering all the people in the world who make irreversible moves they regret, this is the opposite: I took an opportunity anyone would have taken and that I would have forever regretted not taking, and then when I missed my old job, I got to come back. I'm grateful to both companies for that,” Kaplan said in an email to FTVLive.
