Yesterday, FTVLive FIRST told you that WFOR (Miami) News Director Liz Roldan was leaving South Florida and headed to Tegna’s KHOU in Houston.

In making the announcement, Tegna said that Roldan will be part of a new three-headed management team at the station.

KHOU announced that Roldan, Stuart Boslow and Randy Klein have been appointed to lead the station’s journalistic and content efforts.

Roldan was named News Director, Boslow was named Innovation Director and Klein was named Digital Director.

“Innovation Director”?

What the hell is that and what do you do?

“We are thrilled to have experienced, passionate and innovative journalists of this caliber leading our team in Houston,” said KHOU GM Robert Springer. “This incoming leadership team paired with the exceptional journalists at KHOU will allow us to serve the people of greater Houston in new and exciting ways.”

I’m sure the staff at KHOU was sitting around saying, “You know what we need? More bosses.” And now look, they got their wish.

By the way, if you work at KHOU and you want to request a few days off, ask the “Innovation Director,” I’m sure it will be your best chance of getting it approved. Just tell him you need a few days off to Innovate some stuff.
