Another Nexstar Station to Unionize

Yet another Nexstar station has decided to form a union.

The news, production, and creative services employees at WEHT/WTVW (Evansville, Indiana) has announced their intent to form a union with the National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians (NABET), with over 70% of employees declaring support.

The employees says they are unionizing with hopes of improving the workplace environment, and personal lives beyond the walls of Eyewitness News. Both the mental/emotional health and financial security of our members are important.

“The stability provided by our unified voice will allow for more employees to remain an active and loyal part of the WEHT/WTVW family and build beneficial careers under our parent company Nexstar,” the employees said.

Those in support of this decision have signed union cards and are ready to hold an election.

A number of Nexstar stations have decided to unionize and as one Nexstar employee said to FTVLive, “That’s all you need to know about Nexstar.”
