Sinclair Gouging The Viewers....Again

It appears that Sinclair’s Bally Sports has gone dark on Optimum’s system.

Optimum sent out an email to their customers, explaining that the Sinclair owned sports network Is asking the viewers to pay more money.

“Despite our best efforts and flexibility in seeking to reach a fair and reasonable agreement, Diamond Sports Group, the operator of Bally Sports Networks, declined to accept any of our offers to continue carrying their content. We remain open to negotiating with Diamond Sports Group as they work through their bankruptcy proceedings, which will weigh heavily in determining the future of their networks and content availability.” Optimum said in an email to their customers.

They added on their website, “Diamond Sports Group remains unwilling to evolve from the broken and outdated traditional pay television model, in which programmers continuously demand high rates without providing the options and value that today’s consumers want. We believe it is simply unfair and anti-consumer for Diamond Sports Group to ask customers to pay high rates for their networks without assurance as to what content will actually be available on those networks going forward.”

With Sinclair, it’s all about greed.
