It has been a quiet secret for a couple of weeks that WNYW Fox 5 News Director Byron Harmon is leaving at the end of April.

Harmon finally made it official, telling the staff last week that he was leaving and that it was “entirely” his decision.

In my years in TV news, I have learned that when someone says it was “entirely my decision to leave ”, many times it was not.

Then again, who the hell cares?

This is just a frail ego that needs to be pumped up.
