Bounced in the Burgh

Katherine Amenta anchored WPXI’s newscast on Friday morning, by lunch time, she was out of a job.

Pittsburgh Tribune Review Reporter Rob Owen says that Amenta’s contract is up in July and she was not being renewed.

Amenta could not be reached for comment; WPXI News Director Scott Trabandt did not respond to queries but confirmed her departure in an email memo to the newsroom.

Amenta joined the Cox station more than a decade ago, coming from the Sinclair station in DC.
