WICS (Springfield, IL) Reporter Noelle Forde says that she took the precautions seriously, yet she still tested positive for the rona.

Forde, who is working from home says that she has had few symptoms, but is sharing her story share to show younger people it is possible to contract the virus.

“Around two weeks ago, I traveled home to New York for a medical procedure and to see family,” Forde says. “I took all necessary precautions, like wearing a mask and social distancing during my travel. Neither Illinois nor New York were considered COVID-19 hotspots during this time,” she added.

When she got back, she took a COVID test and it was positive.

“I was shocked to hear my test results came back positive since I didn’t have a fever or COVID-19 symptoms,” Forde says.

She says that she is doing contact tracing and so far her immediate family and close friends have tested negative for the virus.

“I will continue to self-isolate and work from home until it is safe for me to end my quarantine,” she says.
