Sorry Seems to Be the Hardest Word (Unless Your Advertisers are Boycotting)

No one loves an advertiser boycott as much as CNN media critic Brian Stelter. You know, as long as the advertisers that are boycotting are doing so against Fox News.

FTVLive has never been and never will be a fan of people demanding advertisers to pull their ads from a particular show, network, whatever.

If a company wants to pull their ads, they have every right to do. But, when people start demanding companies to pull their spots, I don't know it just doesn't sit right with me. If a company advertises on a network, or a show you don't like, don't buy their product. But, demanding them to pull their ads? No.

All that being said, let's look at what is happening to Fox News host Laura Ingraham.

Ingraham almost gleefully talked about how Parkland school student David Hogg got turned down by UCLA when he applied there. Mank kids apply to the school and many get turned down.. Hogg was not happy that he was one of those that was rejected and Ingraham seemed very happy that he was.

You see, Hogg has been very outspoken about how something should be done to stop school shootings and how easy it is for people to obtain guns. In other words, David Hogg is the poster boy that people on the right can't stand.

So, Ingraham thought she would laugh in his face when he got rejected by UCLA. She figured it would play well to her base and so she took shots (no pun intended) at Hogg.

Hogg and others started demanding advertisers pull their spots from Ingraham's show. And some companies caved to the pressure.

Only after she started seeing advertisers leave did Ingraham come out and say she was sorry. In other words, it was one of the most hollow "sorry's" you will ever hear from a cable news host and that's saying a lot.

As for Hogg demanding that companies pull their ads because the mean lady took shots at him, was also a bit weak. He should of stood back and if someone else called for a boycott so be it.

But, the big difference here is David Hogg is a kid, Laura Ingraham is a grown adult. You expect a high school kid to maybe not always make the best calls when it comes to judgment. As for Ingraham, you most certainly expect a little more.

I don't like Laura Ingraham and to be honest, I never much have. Because I don't like her, I don't watch her. I don't demand anyone else not watch her and I don't demand that companies stop placing ads on her show.

There is no doubt that you can cast some fault in the way that David Hogg has handled this situation and the same to Ingraham.

The difference is Hogg is a kid and Ingraham is an adult that is supposed to be media savvy.

Her apology means nothing, you know it wasn't heartfelt and it was nothing more than an attempt to stop her advertisers from leaving her show.

In the meantime, all of this back and forth and other crap has taken the focus off what needs to be done about our kids being killed in their own schools.

Oh yeah....we forgot about that...didn't we?

Stop the killing and fix the problem!
