To all:

I’m happy to tell you about a new addition to our sports department.     Mike Berman will be joining NBC 5 News as a sports reporter and fill-in anchor.

Mike joins us from CBS 4 in Indianapolis, where he has been the main sportscaster since 2014.    Mike has also worked as a sports anchor and reporter in Austin, Texas and Springfield, Illinois.     During his career,  Mike has covered Super Bowls, NBA Finals, the Final Four, the World Series and many bowl games.     Mike has a degree in broadcast news from the journalism school at the University of Missouri.

Most of all,  though, Mike is a passionate Chicago sports fan.    This is a homecoming for Mike, who grew up in Northbrook as a fan of all of our local sports teams.     He’s ecstatic to be returning home.

Mike will join us on August 15th.     Please welcome Mike to NBC 5 News!
