Philly Station Ignored Story of Their Reporter Being Assaulted
/As WCAU/Telemundo Reporter Iris Delgado wrapped up a live shot last Wednesday night, she was approached by a woman that ended up striking Delgado in the face.
WCAU, reported the story briefly on their website and then pulled the story down. FTVLive was the only media outlet to pick up on the story on Thursday morning (a lot have picked up on the story since our report).
We reported the story and then posted the video Thursday morning.
The video has been viewed more than a million times and yet the station has still made no mention of the story.
If the Mayor of Philly was being interviewed live on WCAU's air and someone, walked up and hit the mayor in the face, do you think the station would have covered the story?
Of course they would have. Delgado is a public figure, I get that the station might have wanted to "protect" her, but you can't have it both ways.
A move like this makes it harder for a viewer to trust that a station is giving the full story when they report the news.
Police did arrest Waheedah Wilson, the idiot that they say hit Delago as she was wrapping her live shot.
Here is the video if you have not seen it:
