New Anchor Hire in Sacramento

KTXL in Sacramento has added a new Anchor.

Simone DeAlba is joining the station as a weekend Anchor.

Here is the internal memo that KTXL News Director Ed Chapuis sent to the staff and was obtained by FTVLive:

Please join me in welcoming Simone DeAlba to FOX40 as our new Weekend Anchor / Weekday Reporter MMJ.    She comes to us from KTVQ in Billings, Montana where she has been an Anchor and Reporter/MMJ for the past two years.   Prior to that she was a Morning Anchor at KRTV in Great Falls, Montana.   Simone has family in Folsom and even interned in the market (at KCRA) while attending college.   She has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an additional BA in Broadcast Journalism, Speech Communication and Political Science from Metropolitan State University of Denver.   She also interned at both KCNC and KUSA in Denver.   Simone was awarded Excellence Awards from the Society of Professional Journalists (SPJ) in both 2012 and 2013 for Feature Reporting.

Simone currently reports, anchors, produces, shoots and edits as she turns stories and anchors daily at KTVQ.   She is thrilled to be coming back to Sacramento and is looking forward to starting at FOX40 on December 28.
