From Seattle to Charlotte

KCPQ Anchor/Reporter Brien Blakely is leaving the left coast and headed east. 

Blakely is headed to WJZY Fox Charlotte as an anchor on their morning show, Good Day Charlotte.

Here is the internal email sent to the KCPQ staff from News Director Erica Hill and obtained by FTVLive.

It is with a heavy heart today that I am announcing that Brien Blakely is moving on to take a new opportunity in his home town of Charlotte.

I know I speak for everyone when I say Brien will be very missed.

I want to thank Brien for all the incredible work he has done in this newsroom over the last four years. Brien has been a key player in our success by owning breaking news during our morning news, to being an impeccable anchor, a talented reporter and a fantastic newsroom citizen.

Please join me in saying farewell to Brien whose last day with us will be January 5th.
