WAVE (Louisville) Anchor/Reporter John Boel announced on his social media that he was going to retire. He’s not leaving in two weeks, or even the end of the year. Boel announced that he will be leaving the station in February.

He wrote a nice story about his battle with addiction, and how he made it through that, to go on to have a career in TV news.

The story was nice, but then Boel decided to post a picture with his Emmys, and then another picture of him and his Emmys, and another, and another Emmy picture, and another, another, and another, and another, and another, and finally one last picture, again with his Emmys.

Ten pictures in all of him and his Emmys.

He might be over his chemical addiction, but his Emmy addiction is still griping him.

Imagine If he took all that money used to enter the Emmys and gave it to a clinic that helps people fight addiction.

I read his story and I thought it was inspirational, after seeing all the pictures, I thought this is just another giant ego in TV news.
