/WINK Anchor Nicole Gabe says that today is her last day at the Florida station.
Gabe took to social media, saying that she’s leaving the station, but plans to stay in Southwest Florida.
This is what she wrote:
“Life update 💗🌴🎤 For the past five years, I’ve called Southwest Florida home, and now it’s time to say goodbye. 🥹 I’ve met some of the most incredible people and have had the privilege of sharing their stories with you. Thank you to WINK for taking a chance on a young girl and helping me grow into the anchor and reporter I am today. A lot can happen in half a decade: the pandemic, elections, man-made disasters, and natural disasters. Each event taught me so much, but it was Hurricane Ian that changed my perspective on life. It also made me realize just how special this community is. SWFL will forever have a special place in my heart. Thank you for trusting me to deliver critical, life-saving information to you and your loved ones in times of need.
I feel so incredibly grateful and thankful for the people who have continued to root for me on and off camera. I see you & I appreciate you! You have no idea how much it means to me.
Leaving WINK wasn’t an easy decision, but I’m excited to see where this journey takes me. Just know SWFL will always be my home. My last day will be this Thursday! 🫶”
