Person Breaks Into Nexstar Station

A Knoxville source tells FTVLive that someone entered Nexstar’s WATE in the early morning hours of Sunday.

The person was said to have “hung out” in the building for a while, and the intruder eventually called the police to report what they had done.

“No one inside working for the morning show had any idea a stranger was inside with them, which is horrifying,” the source told FTVLive.

The station has installed a security fence in the last few years, but the source said that the gates are often left open, and the installation has not been completed.
