We Want a Trophy! Give Us a Trophy!

Above are the rules that are laid out by the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences about who can, and can not put their name in for an Emmy.

For the most part, managers are not eligible to to win a news coverage Emmy.

Yet, you see a number of KTNV (Las Vegas) managers' names listed on the entry or the station’s coverage of the shooting at UNLV.

We heard from a couple of KTNV staffers that take issue with this. One saying, “I worked the day of the UNLV shooting, and none of our managers contributed to the production other than ordering us around and yelling at people. But all our managers — Dree De Clamecy (managing editor), Audrianna Ferri (EP), Terri Foley (assistant ND), Bianca Valdez (engineering director), Megan Arias (assignment manager) and news director Jessie Williams are named.”

A source said several Reporters and Photographers worked that day in the field, but their names were left out.

FTVLive has called out other stations that have done this as well. The Emmys did nothing.

Let’s be honest, the more names, the more money they make.
