Going in a Different Direction

For the past decade, Megan Conway has anchored the news at Standard Media’s KLKN (Lincoln, Nebraska).

In March, she returned from maternity leave, and at the end of May, her contract was up.

She went to work expecting to sign a new deal, only to be told the station was not renewing her and they are “going a different direction.”

Sounds like a bullshit, cost-cutting move to us, but what do we know?

Also, if you’re going to kick someone to the curb, maybe give the poor person a heads-up. I know this is a cruel business, but it doesn’t have to be that cruel.
