New GM Named in Baton Rouge

WBRZ announced that Andrew Shenkan is the station's new general manager.

"We are thrilled to welcome Andrew Shenkan back to the WBRZ family," said Jake Manship, CEO of Manship Media. "Andrew's extensive experience and proven leadership in the broadcasting industry make him the perfect fit to lead our team and continue our commitment to delivering high-quality news and entertainment to our community."

Shenkan joins WBRZ from WLEX in Lexington, KY, where he has served as Vice President/General Manager since April 2020. Prior to WLEX, he spent 14 years in the same capacity at KATC in Lafayette, LA.

"I am honored to return to WBRZ and lead this incredible team. The station has a rich history and a bright future, and I look forward to working with everyone to build on our successes and take WBRZ to new heights. Baton Rouge has always held a special place in my heart, and I am excited to reconnect with the community and contribute to its growth,” Shenkan said.

He replaces Trey Schmaltz, who had a bit of a rocky ride at the station.
