Amen...
/I received this email, and I could not have said it better myself, so, I thought I would share it as I received it.
Email:
When I was in college (1980's) I had to take a course entitled "Communications and the Law", even though I was going towards technical operations I still had to enroll in the class. For the entirety of the semester it was drilled into our heads that newspaper reporters, radio and television broadcasters should stay neutral and just report the facts without commentary or bias.
What happened? News organizations including local, network and cable are not afraid to show just who they support politically and or slander the candidates they do not like or support. Anchors and reporters whom are either dating or married to candidates can seemingly go on the air without making the audiance aware of this conflict of interest.
Newspapers openly endorsing candidates which pretty tells the opponent they will not get a fair shake in coverage from said publication when it comes to being accurate in reporting or commentary.
The irony of this is, I worked for a news network for close to thirty years and asked many times, "Why is this okay?" and was told that we are "Just looking for the truth!"
So I ask again, Why is this okay?
And we wonder why people do not trust the local or national news outlets anymore.
