Tegna and DirecTv Reach a Deal

After six weeks, Tegna has reached a new retrans deal with DirecTV.

Tegna demanded DirecTV to pay more money to carry the 64 Tegna channels that were impacted.

Over the month and a half that the Tegna stations were dark on DirecTV, Tegna encouraged viewers to drop DirecTv and get their signal from somewhere else.

Now, the two sides have agreed to a multi-year deal. The details of the deal were not released, and now customers of DirecTV will likely see their bill rise.

The customer will have to pay more but will not get more.
