Fox Stars Being Questioned in Dominion Lawsuit
/Word is that the folks at Fox News are starting to sweat as their stars are sitting down for depositions in the high-dollar lawsuit filed by Dominion Voting System against Fox News.
Dominion's attorneys as part of its discovery of evidence in a $1.6 billion defamation suit it filed against Fox News and its parent company. Dominion alleges it has been "irreparably harmed" by the lies, conspiracy theories and wild claims of election fraud that aired on Fox.
As for Fox News, they say “… the damages claims "outrageous, unsupported and not rooted in sound financial analysis, serving as nothing more than a flagrant attempt to deter our journalists from doing their jobs."
But, here’s the deal, most of those that are being deposed are not Journalists at all. Sean Hannity is not a Journalist, Tucker Carlson is certainly not a Journalist. And, Maria Bartiromo, who is set to be deposed tomorrow, used to be a Journalist, but Fox News doesn’t call her that anymore.
Bartiromo lost her way when Donald Trump was elected and even fell further off the path when Trump got hammered by Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Late last year, Bartiromo claimed that "an intel source" told her that Trump had won the election.” She never said who the source was, nor did she follow up.
NPR reports that a November 2020 email from an anguished Fox News Producer to colleagues sent up a flare amid a fusillade of false claims.
The Producer warned: Fox cannot let host Jeanine Pirro back on the air. She is pulling conspiracy theories from dark corners of the Web to justify then-President Donald Trump's lies that the election had been stolen from him.
Fox News declined comment about the email.
Just remember as much as Fox News continues to claim that this lawsuit is an attack on Journalism, none of the Fox News stars sitting for depositions are even close to being Journalists.
