Where Were You?
/As some nasty weather rolled into the DC market, including a tornado warning, it appears that The Firm’s station was asleep at the wheel.
A tornado warning was issued for the close-in Virginia suburbs at 8:22.
Most of the DC stations were on it within 2-3 minutes.
Sinclair’s WJLA did a split screen with network programming.
But, what about Fox O&O WTTG?
They actually air with their 8 p.m. newscast on the MyTV station but it still took them some time to get to the warning.
Sister station WTTG continued to air Master Chef without even a crawl or alert until they cut in at 8:31 (9 minutes later!) with the coverage that had already been airing on WDCA for 5-6 minutes at that point.
When a tornado warning has been issued, it is a situation where every second counts. WTTG should have been more prepared.
