The Inbox...

Opening up the FTVLive Inbox and I see that some of you are weighing in on the “KOMO (Seattle) fired Reporter Jonathan Choe story and his side of that story.

In re: your story on that guy who was fired from Sinclair of all places (probably for saying the quiet part out loud)…

This is one of those cases where perception is reality. I’m not a journalist. I’m just a pokey observer of human nature. But I notice two things.

1) When in the history of anything has anyone ever been to a non-work-related function that wanted to be there?

2) A person who embeds a musical cue like that either doesn’t know what they’re doing or they know EXACTLY what they’re doing. The fact that he has shown no remorse and has painted himself as a victim in all of this (not to mention his use of the word “cancel”) is telling.

“I’ll hang up and wait for your take.”

Thanks for all you do.

Choe can spin the story all he wants, his post about the racist group did read like he was working PR for the company.

He should have been fired, I’m just surprised that Sinclair did it.

Aren’t those two on the same side?

Jonathan Choe will get hired again, but my guess is it will be a conservative outlet that makes that hire.

He is more activist than journalist.
