The Deuce Steps Up

Sometimes there are bosses out there that understand.

WOOD (Grand Rapids) Assistant News Director Amy Fox volunteered to do live shots from the station’s Kalamazoo Newsroom during the height of the blizzard.

Fox decided that she would cover the reporting shift instead of requiring a station Reporter to cancel holiday plans with family.

Fox has three kids of her own, but showed REMARKABLE leadership by stepping up to spend two nights/days right before Christmas braving blizzard conditions and wind chills to nearly 40-below zero.

Fox spent the early part of her career as an Anchor/Reporter, so she has a deep understanding of what the "rank and file" crews face daily, especially during extreme weather conditions.

“The news team at WOOD already had high respect for Amy...but her actions this week have elevated her to a brand new place!”said on newsroom insider to FTVLive.
