Not Exactly a Star

Another shooting death..

This time it was Connecticut college basketball player Phil Urban that was shot and killed over the weekend at a New Jersey nature preserve.

A tragic story for sure.

When you read the post and the story from NBC News, they label Urban a “Connecticut college basketball star.”

Urban averaged just 2 1/2 minutes per game this season and he has scored zero points.

To label him a “star” is certainly a big stretch. It’s a sad story, but as a news outlet, you job is not to make someone something they are not.

NBC News should know this.
