CNN Investigative Reporter Dies

Some very sad news coming out of CNN.

the network announced the passing of Drew Griffin, CNN's award-winning Senior Investigative Correspondent, who passed away on Saturday after a long battle with cancer. He was 60 years old.

Drew was a gifted storyteller and an exceptionally talented investigative journalist. He had a well-earned reputation for holding powerful people and institutions accountable, and for getting even the cagiest of interview subjects to engage with his stories. His work had an incredible impact and truly embodied the mission of CNN in every way.

"Drew's death is a devastating loss to CNN and our entire profession," said CNN CEO Chris Licht in a note to staff. "He was an incredible journalist and will be deeply missed by all of us at CNN and beyond."

Drew's commitment to finding the truth and telling important stories will be remembered by all who knew him and by the countless people whose lives were touched by his journalism. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Drew's family and loved ones during this difficult time.
