New Chief Met Named in the Buckeye State

Tegna’s WBNS (Columbus) announce that Jerry Martz will be joining the station as Chief Meteorologist in January.

WBNS says that Martz brings a wealth of experience to the role, having previously served as a Chief Meteorologist for over six years and as a Broadcast Meteorologist at WTAE-TV. In addition to his extensive background in meteorology, Martz has a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from Pennsylvania State University and is a trained Skywarn observer.

As a Chief Meteorologist, Martz is dedicated to providing accurate and relevant weather information to help people plan their lives. "I’m really looking forward to rolling my sleeves up and getting to work," Martz said. "I am very focused on providing information that is relevant and helps people plan their lives.
