The New Path of TV News?

I saw this job posting from Scripps owned WTVF (Nashville) for a Special Projects Producer.

The job posting says this is “an excellent position for a current News Producer who wants to get out of the daily grind and work on signature content and events, or a strong current MMJ/Reporter with a Producing background who can craft compelling content for others.”

So, it sounds like a Journalism job….right?

I don’t think so.

The job posting says, “We need someone who understands sales and sponsored content, and can be a liaison between News, Marketing, Production and Sales Departments.”

In other words, they want to hire a Journalist to come over to the dark side and help produce pay for play content.

If you are a real Journalist, I would take a HARD PASS on this job opening.
