The Irony at Sinclair

Sinclair’s DC bureau sent down a story to its station talking about inflation and how the cost of just about everything is going up.

In the story, Sinclair reported that overall, consumers are paying 5.4% more for everything from food, fuel and housing to transportation and professional service.

As FTVLive told you, Sinclair has frozen its employees’ wages for all of 2021.

“We're all on a wage freeze but being forced to read and promote and write stories about a rapidly rising cost of living,” said one Sinclair employee to FTVLive, adding, “I thought this was incredibly ironic and not at all a very good look.”

While Sinclair continues to freeze employees’ pay, the company is busy exploring the chance to buy more outlets and stations.

Irony indeed.
