Is This The Start of Something at The CBS O&O's?
/KTVT (Dallas) General Manager Gary Schneider announced that he is retiring from the CBS O&O after a dozen years on the job.
While he appears to be the first CBS O&O GM to be leaving since CBS parted ways with O&O President Peter Dunn, many expect he will not be the last.
Dunn was exited and CBS has decided to merge the O&O’s with the network’s news division and it will all be under the leadership of former ABC O&O President Wendy McMahon and former Hearst executive Neeraj Khemlani.
The CBS investigation into Peter Dunn and O&O VP of News David Friend is still ongoing.
Many Inside CBS think that more heads will roll and you will see more people leaving the network in the coming weeks.
While Schneider’s announced leaving does not appear to be tied to the ongoing investigation, don’t be surprised if he isn’t the last CBS manager to announce they are leaving the network.
Stay tuned….
Update: CBS says that Schneider announced his retirement in mid-March. He continues to plan on leaving the station in June.
