Insensitive in Phoenix?

Yesterday, FTVLive told you that Meredith’s KPHO/KTVK (Phoenix) had an internal power outage that knocked the stations off the air.

After they can back up, the station’s morning Met posted this to his social media:

A viewer of the station emailed FTVLive and took issue with the post.

This seems extremely insensitive to the countless groups of people who hold this ritual as sacred.

Also, the timing couldn’t be worse as our country continues to deal with racists acts everyday.

And for a news director to actually take the lead on this and not question how it might look bad is also mind blowing to me.

Clearly the station hasn’t had any cultural training, or has anyone who works at the station who might speak up and say, “hmmm, this probably isn’t a really good thing to do.”
