Former WDAF (Kansas City) Anchor Mark Alford is throwing his hat into the political ring and he Is taking a swipe at local TV news while announcing his intent to run for Congress.

He is running for Missouri's 4th Congressional District and says that being a conservative working at the WDAF newsroom, he felt like a fish swimming upriver.

Is he mad that his station frowned on the fact that he could not voice his political opinions on air?

“Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t mind a good fight (dramatic pause) but it’s time to take that fight to a new arena,” Alford says in his first campaign video.
