Landing in Bean Town
/As Gray gets ready to take over the Meredith stations, the top Meredith executives are scrambling to find new jobs.
Gray has elected not to take most of the Meredith suits on board after the sale is finalized and I’m noy sure anyone could blame them.
One of those that had a soft landing was Meredith’s former Senior VP and Chief Revenue Officer Todd Brown.
Brown has been named the new General Manager at Cox-owned WFXT in Boston.
Boston 25 has been somewhat of a train-wreck since Cox took over the station. Brown has been brought in to try and get the train back on the tracks.
At one point, Cox was one of the best media companies to work for. Now, since they have been taken over by the hedge fund Apollo, it is all about cutting costs and saving money.
Is it any surprise that they hired a bean counter from Meredith to be their next GM in Boston?
