Fired For Faking It....
/Yesterday at 5:55 AM, FTVLive told you that were had been trying to nail down a story about a number of managers getting fired a Gray station in Texas.
FTVLive wrote that a General Manager, a Sales Manager, and a News Director have been let go from a station in Texas.
Word is that the GM and the Sales Manager were using fake COVID vaccine cards to get around a company mandate.
While we had the names and the station, we were still working on confirming our information.
Late yesterday afternoon, the Lubbock (Tx) Avalanche-Journal went with the story, writing, that six employees at Lubbock's KCBD-TV station, including vice president and general manager Dan Jackson, were fired recently for apparently violating its parent company's COVID-19 vaccination policies, according to current and former employees.
Eleah Lehnen, who was a KCBD account executive, said she was fired Tuesday morning after the company's human resources officials told her she was in violation of its COVID-19 vaccine policy.
Lehnen confirmed that Jackson and two other employees — including KCBD's general sales manager and news director — were fired last week, while she was among three employees who were terminated Tuesday.
Other current and former KCBD employees have also confirmed the terminations.
Sources tell FTVLive that some of those that were fired appeared to be trying to use fake COVID vaccination cards and were caught and let go.
Gray released a statement, “I can tell you they are no longer with the station. KCBD (GrayTV) does not comment on personnel matters," reads the statement, which refers further questions to Interim General Manager Patrick Stacey. Stacey is listed as the vice president and general manager of GrayTV property KLTV in Tyler. He was not immediately available for comment.
