The News Nation Ratings Problem

This was the week that News Nation launched their much-hyped morning show with former ABC News anchor Adrienne Bankert.

Looking at the ratings, the show kicked off with more of a whimper than a bang. FTVLive told you that according to Nielsen, the debut show pulled just 12,000 TOTAL viewers and an awful 1,000 viewers in the 25-54 demo.

Looking at the numbers from Wednesday, there was some improvement, but not much. The Bankert. hosted show pulled in 13,000 total viewers and a still dismal 1,000 in the demo.

Moving to the evening and News Nation’s 7 PM show “On Balance with Leland Vittert” also pulled just 1,000 viewers in the demo.

Speaking of Adrienne Bankert….

Some Nexstar staffers that work on the show feel a bit slighted as Banket continues to post on her social media about how it is HER show.

Unless she is producing, writing, reporting, switching, and running cameras, all while anchoring the morning newscast, I think the show is more than just her.

But then again……talent…..what can you do?
