Nexstar Locking Out Australia

Well, it appears that the people living down under are not going to get to see the latest selfies and dance videos from the talent at Nexstar stations.

An internal email was sent out to some Nexstar staffers that is telling them that they need to go into the talent pages of their employees’ Facebook accounts block Australia.

It seems to be pertaining to a new law that Australia’s government has passed legislation to reduce cyber abuse, allowing it to force social media platforms such as Facebook Inc. and Google to remove harmful material within 24 hours or be fined as much as $415,000.

Not sure this really pertains to Nexstar and I’m not sure they are many people in Australia that are accessing the pages of Nexstar talent, but I guess it’s better to be safe than sorry.
