In an effort to grab even more political ad dollars, CBS O&O KDKA announced that they are adding a 7:30 PM newscast.

The station will have Meghan Schiller anchor the 7 PM half-hour newscast that will replace the syndicated show Extra.

The show is set to launch August 17th and word is that the KDKA sales team has already reached out to political campaigns to get them to advertise on the new newscast.

KDKA has not said how many more people it will be hiring to help put the new newscast on the air, but if I had to guess, I would think the number would be between 0-2.
