Gone In Memphis?

Back on July 22nd, in a Patron Only Story, FTVLive told you how WHBQ Reporter Winnie Wright and the station were being called out by the LBGTQ community for a story that did about a local firefighter that was killed in a park.

The story, Wright talked about the park and said, “There were several men by themselves driving through or parked along with various spots throughout the park. It seems like as soon as they saw our FOX13 logo, several of them immediately got out of there.”

A leader in the gay community posted this message to the station on social media:

Well, now it appears that the Reporter that did the story is no gone from the station. Wright still has WHBQ listed as her employer on her Twitter, but bio has been scrubbed from the station’s website and she posted this:

So, has she been let go? Was the gay shaming of the firefighter play a part?

So far, it seems no one is talking, because, you know, the communications business.
