Back in December of last year, KABC’s News Chopper made an emergency landing after the pilot though he took a bird strike to the news chopper.

The NTSB was called and has issued the findings of their investigation. The agency believes the chopper did not hit a bird, but hit a drone.

The NTSB said laboratory examinations indicated the shape and dimension of the small round dent to the horizontal stabilizer matched the dimensions of “many popular small drones,” and were consistent with a fore-to-aft impact with a “hard cylindrical object.”

None of the three people on board the helicopter were injured, with the pilot making a precautionary landing.
