Do You Need to Put Racism on Display?

Nexstar’s WMBB did a story about a protest at a confederate monument in town and the story used multiple extremely racist sound bites.

You had one guy saying that he will chip in money to send Black people “back to Africa where they belong.”

Did viewers really need to hear a statement like this to believe it's still happening? Or was this just race-baiting?

I think this story could have been told without the vial racists comments and I have to wonder about who at the station approved this to air?
