Duped in Tallahassee

Scripps owned WTXL in Tallahassee, Florida did a story about a couple of teenage girls were secretly delivering groceries to senior citizens during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The station featured the girls and their GoFundMe page to help raise money so they could buy the food.

Well, it appears the station was duped and they are not the only one.

Of course, if there was better reporting by the station, the fake story might never have made air. A check of the girls’ social media shows that they don’t live or go to school in Florida like they claimed.

WTXL did a follow up story how how they were duped by a couple of kids.
