The Worst TV Station Group During the Pandemic and Protests

If you asked me as the COVID-19 pandemic was getting started which TV ownership group stepped up the least, I would have never thought it would be an O&O…..yet here we are.

Coming in at the top of the worst list is none other that CBS.

While the economy was taking a huge hit, CBS went across the country to their owned stations and put a number of really good people out of work.

It sucks losing your job in this business, but it is even worse when it is next to impossible to find a job. You can’t fly out to interviews and a number of stations have hiring freezes in place.

CBS easily had enough money in the bank that if they really felt the need to make cuts, they could have waited for things to settle a bit back closer to normal before doing so.

Also, while CBS was canning employees coast to coast, the brass at CBS did not even cut their own pay. At least other groups like Meredith and Tegna were smart enough to have the brass take a pay cut as well.

Not CBS, management continues to get full pay while many former CBSers are now trying to make ends meet.

Here we are in history, a global pandemic and nationwide protests looking to change this country and CBS is putting the people assigned to cover these huge stories out of work.

Two of the biggest stories in our lifetime and CBS decides let’s cut back on our Journalists to cover these stories.

How very sad is that?

That lands CBS as the first of the worst, check back next hour to see which group is the best.
