Media Continues to be the Target During Protests
/On Sunday, FTVLive told you how the media is being targeted by both protestors and cops while trying to cover the story.
On Saturday, FTVLive told you how police took dead aim at a news crew while they were going live.
While most in the media are just trying to do their job, they are becoming the target on both sides.
WHAS (Louisville) had the windows of their station broken (picture above) and an incendiary device tossed inside. The newsroom was damaged but thankfully no one was hurt.
In Tulsa, KOTV had the windows of their news cars smashed.
In Birmingham, WBMA Reporter Stephen Quinn is hit in the head with a glass object. He also had is wallet stolen.
Here’s the video of the attack:
Quinn did go to the hospital and is going to be OK.
WGN in Chicago got a new paint job on the live truck. I don’t think that creative services signed off on this one.
Even in a tiny market like Fargo, the media was a target:
With a President that is constantly calling the media the “Enemy,” it is getting more and more challenging for Journalists to do their job.
It is never good when one side targets you, but what makes it worse is the police are also targeting the media.
This is our country in 2020 and for Journalists, telling the story is getting much harder to do.
Stay safe and remember, you are writing the first draft of history. Don’t let anyone stop you from doing it.
