Here we go again….

Struggling WGCL in Atlanta fired and replaced General Manager Lyle Banks all in a day.

Banks was brought in to “fix” the always being worked on station.

Insiders tell FTVLive that despite a few stumbles, Banks was doing OK. Not exactly a ringing endorsement, but you have to consider what he was working with.

Next up, is former News Director Deborah Collura. She was the GM at Tegna’s WCNC (Charlotte), but left the station late last year.

“It is a great privilege to lead the team at WGCL and WPCH in one of the most dynamic and fastest-growing communities in the country," said Collura. "The team at WGCL and WPCH has made great strides building a strong investigative brand and creating exciting opportunities for advertising partners. I look forward to continuing that momentum as we find new and innovative strategies to serve our audiences, our clients and the Atlanta metro community.”

If we can give Deborah any advice, it would be the same advice that we give to all managers that are hired at WGCL.

Rent, don’t buy.

BTW- Didn’t Meredith say the company was under a hiring freeze.
