News From The Street
/While WCBS seems to be having huge problems getting their newscasts on the air, CBS’s WBBM in Chicago is practicing for a “what if.”
WBBM id a recent newscast from the street in front of the station, using live trucks to switch the newscast and producing the entire newscast off-site.
“We are outside today as a practice — a dry run if you will,” WBBM Anchor Brad Edwards told viewers at the top of the newscast. “If COVID-19 necessitates that we evacuate the premise and take the show on the road, that’s what we’re practicing today. The most important thing is that we continue to serve as a conduit for critical information to you.”
It appears that WBBM doesn’t want to get caught off guard like big sister WCBS.
Smart.
