KDVR/KWGN General Manager Joan Barrett does not like sending out emails to the staff, because she said she is tired of seeing them end up on FTVLive.

It seemed to happen over, and over, and over again.

Yesterday, she sent out another email and it might just be her last one to the staff at the Nexstar station.

Barrett announced that she is leaving the Denver station and is headed to WCNC, the Tegna station in Charlotte.

We would share her latest email to staff, but we don’t have it. Ha! Just kidding, of course, we have it and here it is:

Subject: Today's Announcement

If you haven’t heard today's news, I announced this morning that will be leaving FOX31 and Ch. 2. I hope each and every one of you knows how much I have enjoyed working with you and I am so proud of all the success we have had together over the past four years. We’ve grown ratings, revenue, revenue share, community presence and proudly claim Colorado’s #1 TV website – along with a slew of other awards and accomplishments. Thank you – to each of you for all you have done.

I have accepted a position with TEGNA as President & General Manager of WCNC in Charlotte, the NBC affiliate. My last day in the office will be Tuesday, March 3 – working remotely through the end of that week.

We have built an amazing team who will keep the momentum going, and I know that Nexstar will find the perfect person to take this team to new heights. Please accept my deepest gratitude and appreciation for letting me a part of this team – I know you will continue to #W1Ntheday as you serve our viewers, clients and community.
