KYW Ditches KYW

KYW radio has sent KYW TV packing.

The longtime Philly radio station has cut ties with its TV sister with the same call letters.

KYW radio says they are now partnering with WCAU, the NBC O&O in Philly.

So in other words, if you tune into KYW radio you will hear WCAU talent. But, if you turn on KYW TV, you will not see anyone from WCAU.

“It’s a win- win-win,” WCAU News Director Anzio Williams said. “The partnership enables us to combine our resources and talent across all the stations.... You combine our organizations and we certainly have the largest team of broadcast journalists on the ground.”

It sounds a bit confusing to us, but whatever.
