ABC News Suspends Reporter Over Kobe Report

ABC News has suspended the Reporter who falsely reported that all four of Kobe Bryant’s daughters were in the helicopter crash Sunday that killed Bryant, his 13-year-old daughter Gianna.
In the rush to be first and not right, ABC’s Matt Gutman reported that sources had told him all four of Bryant’s daughters had been with him on board the helicopter.
That report was false.
Gutman tried putting the toothpaste back in the tube an apologized for his inaccurate report both on-air and online.

No word on how long the suspension is for, but it gives more ammo to those that cry out “fake news” and more ammo for those that hate the media.
Of course, mistake happen, but, there is a big difference between reporting the wrong date for the Winter Festival and reporting on the death of young kids.
Also, a mistake such as this should never happen at the network level.
