The Pissing Match Continues

On Tuesday, FTVLive told you that the Hearst stations are now involved in a retrans pissing match with DirecTV.

It’s basically a money grab by both sides in which the viewer will end up paying for.

It also Is hurting news promotion.

Check out this internal email sent to the staff at WMUR (Manchester, NH) in which the station is bumping news promotion, to air propaganda about their ongoing fight with DirecTV.

“I find the must-run crawls mandated by our corporation in poor taste,” said one Hearst TV employee to FTVLive in an email.

The current agreement between both sides was set to expire at midnight on December 31, 2019, has been extended until 3pm today.
