Shuffling Off to Buffalo

Tegna’s WGRZ (Buffalo) has hired a new meteorologist.

The station has hired Elyse Smith from KRCG in Jefferson City, Mo., to fill the weekend weather gig.

She replaces Jennifer Stanonis, who left the NBC affiliate after seven years in late October to spend more time with her family.

Smith, who starts next month is a native of the Chicago area and graduated from Valparaiso University. She leaves a Sinclair station and comes to a Tegna station.
